If you are looking for a comfortable and discreet way to straighten your teeth and improve your smile, Invisalign® aligners are a great alternative to traditional braces. Invisalign aligners provide you with flexibility, comfort, and discretion.

If you are interested in Invisalign as a teeth straightening option, your first step will be to consult our St. Augustine dentist, Dr. Jeremy Gordon. Dr. Gordon is trained in evaluating patients for Invisalign aligners. If he believes you are a good fit, and you decide to move forward with Invisalign treatment, he will work with you to develop a treatment plan specifically for your smile.

Once your treatment plan is in place, you will be outfitted with a series of customized Invisalign aligners made just for you. Your dentist will direct your treatment, asking you to switch aligners as the process progresses. Over time, the aligners will slowly shift your teeth until you have the straight, beautiful smile you wanted.

Invisalign vs. Traditional Braces for Teeth Straightening

Invisalign aligners are made of a clear, flexible plastic material that is practically invisible, so if the appearance of traditional braces bothers you, Invisalign may be a better option for you.

Additionally, Invisalign aligners can be removed when you eat and drink and for oral hygiene, making sanitation of your Invisalign aligners easy. Traditional braces cannot be removed from your mouth except by your dentist, so you must follow careful oral hygiene practices while wearing them to make sure they remain clean.

You will also have to be more careful with your diet when wearing traditional braces since you will be advised to avoid foods that may interfere with your braces, like sticky or hard foods. Since you can remove your Invisalign aligners to eat and drink, this isn’t an issue.

Overall, Invisalign treatment is convenient, the aligners are easy to maintain, and the process can help you achieve a straighter smile. Many patients prefer Invisalign to traditional braces due to those benefits.
